my dear friend eric johnson painted a painting i commissioned as an ode to pacific palisades. he delivered it to our home two days before the fire. all our friends homes were integrated into the painting, including eric’s. they have all burned down. our house is standing. uninhabitable. neighbors’ homes gone. pacific palisades, all of LA… this real-time surreal amount of loss.. i am so sorry. so much empathy to all who are impacted. hand on heart. i ampartnering with a couple of people to find ways to continue to contribute. i’ll report back with more formal opportunities to help. supporting those in deepsuffering and loss in ways big medium and small. sometimes just being with each other as we weep and rage and numb-out or collapse is the greatest kindness. listening with empathy. this will alchemically evolve us all — of this i am sure. there is heroism and care all around. but for now… all the feelings of grief. shock. numb. denial. bargaining. regret. (the frontal cortex jumps offline in emergencies. please don’t beat yourself up.) anger. rage. sadness. action. collapse. deepbreaths. warriordom as everyone scrambles to find new places to land and interact with insurance companies logistics etc etc all while taking this shocking reality in. baby steps. titrate. hugs. i love you. we will get through this together. ❤️????
