I’m not ready to say goodbye. But I guess I have no choice in the matter. I rushed back to Hong Kong to sit by her side and tell her everything that was on my heart. Thanked her for every diaper change, every joke, every lesson, every fried rice, every amazing meal she made, for teaching me hokkien, for forcing me to stick to mandarin instead of Cantonese to learn and improve my chances in life. I didn’t spend enough time with her… regret is the coldest lesson we learn in life. This is the biggest, most painful loss I have ever experienced, she is my soul mate. Everyone knows that. Today I feel like a part of me died with her. Rest in peace, amma. 永遠愛你.

Eternal happiness 🔮 The way these two cracked my heart open and showed me love. I didn’t know a family could be this blissful. My husband has shown me that I want and need for nothing when I have him. He is my safe space, my home. My daughter has shown me the important things in life aren’t things at all. It’s her love. The only thing I’ll fight for 🥹Which is why (random but valid update) I sold almost everything expensive I own. I don’t want to be tied down to stuff that is meaningless and I don’t want my daughter to grow up obsessed with material things. Those used to fill a void in me, I was choosing partners who couldn’t love me fully which meant they had to substitute it with designer gifts. Now that I have true love in these two, I am the richest woman I know. And although my husband insists on buying me “nice stuff”, I kinda don’t want/need it. Gold bars/investments for my daughter can be the new bday/Xmas gifts for me lol.
