Statement on U.S. House Appropriations advancing funding for the fight against AIDS:We applaud the U.S. House Appropriations Committee for providing billions of dollars in 2027 for the fight against AIDS around the world. This funding will help countries gradually take over and run their own HIV programs, while also supporting the important work of Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria.As the process moves forward in the Senate, we hope that additional resources can be found to ensure the U.S. pledge to the Global Fund of $4.6 billion over three years is reached on an annual basis.We also hope immediate ‘bridge’ funding will be sent to the front lines to help keep people alive while new agreements with partner countries are finalized.

Less than two months ago, a Republican-led Congress and the President came together to pass a bipartisan budget that reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to ending the AIDS epidemic - a goal first set out in President Trump’s 2019 State of the Union.Today, we have extraordinary new tools to prevent HIV and treat it more effectively than ever before. Ending AIDS is within reach. But progress is fragile, and without sustained investment, it can quickly be reversed. Now is not the moment to pull back. It is the moment to double down. We urge both Congress and the Administration to once again come together to protect and strengthen funding for HIV/AIDS. Millions of lives depend on it, and the opportunity to end this epidemic, once and for all, must not be lost.

There are moments in music that feel completely new, even after all these years. Recently, I sat at my piano and played Tiny Dancer - just me, no vocals. As I played, the incredible artist Jack Coulter painted alongside me, translating every note into colour. Seeing my music through Jack’s eyes, through his gift of synaesthesia, was something so special and extraordinary. It meant so much to see it find a home during the #EJAFOscars auction, raising $275,000 to support the Foundation’s work around the world ❤️ 🚀

Good company, good bubbles, and a great cause. @eltonjohn and @davidfurnish start the celebrations early last Sunday with a glass of Elton John Zero at home, before heading off to the @EJAF Oscar Party 🍾

We’ve loved @lolayounggg’s music for a long time, so having her on the #EJAFOscars stage meant so much to us. Watching the artist she’s grown into, and hearing those incredible vocals fill the room, was something really special. A powerful night met with an equally powerful performance. We’ll never forget it ✨

The 90s was a busy decade! In 1992, we founded @ejaf to tackle AIDS with compassion, urgency, and a whole lot of determination. The year after, we took over the Academy Awards Viewing Party from Patrick Lippert, bringing people together to celebrate Hollywood’s biggest night while raising critical funds to support lifesaving work around the world.More than three decades later, that night is still helping drive our mission forward and we can’t wait to be back at #EJAFOscars this Sunday once again.
