And I’m going to talk about it everywhere I go.” – Martin Luther King Jr.Growing up in Washington, D.C., shaped me and my perspective of the world. My grandparents moved there from North Carolina in search of a better future and their journey instilled in me an awareness of the world around me. In our household, I had the invaluable opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of the civil rights movement. My grandparents, born in the South during the 1940s, grew up under Jim Crow laws, and their stories—told with Resilience, Hope, and an absence of malice—shaped my understanding of Perseverance. Their belief in a peaceful future left a lasting impression on me.It is painful to witness the normalization of hate across our nation. The thought of enduring four years of regression is overwhelming. Yet, I find strength in the love that defines the communities I belong to. This love is not just a source of comfort but a guiding force. It’s okay to feel angry ; our emotions are valid. But I like to think of this as anger in action, being the cause vs the effect—which brings clarity. What matters most is how we channel that energy to work toward the world we desire to live in. The work ahead is hard, but it’s essential.We cannot ignore the reality that there are still vast communities intent on threatening our rights and those of the people we love. Through Community, Friendship, Support Systems, and Volunteer Work, we can navigate these next four years. Sharing our stories will amplify our voices and guide us forward. Representation matters, and we need to fight for it, in media and beyond, just as fervently as others amplify their own agendas.It may seem impossible due to algorithms and the gatekeepers of them. But we cannot fall victim to hateful rhetoric we must use the tools available to us. This time does not represent me, the people I love, or the future I envision for our youth. But I believe it can ignite a movement that carves out space for us.I have hope that love will outweigh hate. Let our love for those whose liberties are threatened extend greater than their hate for us.

I just want to express my utter gratitude for all the blessings in my life. Whether it be people, opportunities, the places I’ve traveled, and most importantly my home and health. I started 2024 with the idea in mind that this was a year I didn’t just allow things to happen to me. I didn’t want to subject myself to idly waiting by for someone to give me what I desired or for someone to see my worth and give me validation. I wanted this year to be the year I took initiative and pursued my goals even if it meant taking risks. Setting the forward motion and laying the foundation for a beautiful 2025. I end the year filled with so much joy and excitement for what’s ahead. It’s crazy how much time flies, soon it’ll be 10 years for me in NYC. So I guess in 2025 you can officially call me a New Yorker. I am grateful for new friendships and building on those that have seen me through many stages in life. I am grateful for the beautiful work I get to do with so many amazing creatives. I wouldn’t be here without the support and guidance from my team along with all of you. I know life is a blessing and I can’t wait to see what’s next for me. ????
