@inezandvinoodh have been an important part of my career since the start and I’m very happy to be celebrating them and their work in the new issue of @nlvogue ♥️ Together we have created many characters over the years (my favourite thing to do!) but this cover feels more ‘me’ than ever before. I feel more naked than in the naked pictures I’ve done (and I’ve done many!). It’s an honour to be part of their oeuvre and I hope they’ll take pictures of me, as myself or in character, for the rest of my life. Even if it’s just an excuse to spend time together. From Twiggy to Linda to Mariacarla to He Cong… 50 Iconic models all in the same studio felt like a fever dream. I couldn’t believe my eyes. All these gorgeous women from all over the world, with their unique stories and careers spanning decades. Even though the industry went through many changes over the past 50 years, we share a common experience, and the connection was palpable. My darling friends and beautiful strangers,excuse my sentimentalism, but I’m going to take you on a little trip down memory lane as I’m making some big changes in my life.11 years ago I was a high school student (just turned 18) and went to my agency’s office to do a LV casting. The casting director came all the way from Paris, and I remember the whole office being full of gorgeous girls and me shitting my pants. Somehow I was called in first, and something that already felt like a milestone (a LV casting!!) was the start of a wild ride. The fashion industry welcomed me with open arms, and I jumped into them without hesitation, so curious about the world and the people surrounding me all of a sudden.I’ve met my best friends in this industry, grew up with them. I ended up building professional relationships that span over a decade, with people I truly love and admire, creating work that I’m really proud of.This industry gave me more than I could have ever wished for. And now it’s time for me to follow my own dreams. I’m going to take a break from modelling.I want to know who I am without it. I have many dreams and passions outside of fashion, many sides of my personality that took a backseat because this career was my biggest priority. Adhering to my guess of other people’s idea of model Rianne Van Rompaey (still following?) was of utmost importance to me, because the expectations were so high, and I was payed so much to be perfect. I wanted everybody to love me.Somehow, something in me changed over the years (old age?). I don’t want to try to be perfect anymore. I want to be gross. I want to roll on the ground in a basement in NY trying to make people laugh. I want to dress weird, cut my hair off, make mistakes and not feel like the whole industry is watching. I want my body to truly be mine again, break free from my own judgement.I love this industry so much. I love the people I work with so much. And I know I will see all of you again. Hopefully not in like 2 months, that would be awkward. But life is short and it’s time for new adventures. Adios amigos! See you on the big screen!

Sometimes you gotta try something else. The feminist inside of me is still trying to make it make sense, but you know what: I had a lot of fun. Seeing so many of the girls I care about shine; especially the ones that never saw themselves represented on this catwalk before, made me very proud to be part of the show. Did I ever think my tiny tits would make it to @victoriassecret ? Hell no. But look at them shine!
