@cynthiaerivo ’s talent seems supernatural. But it’s work. Hard work. Discipline. And then more work. Cynthia’s a fighter, but one of the most gracious fighter’s I know. She never misses. And agreeing to lend her voice to the John Candy: I Like Me soundtrack is no small thing. It unlocked made the movie whole in a way none of were expecting. Cynthia has written so many gorgeous songs — and knew exactly what to do with this classic. I can’t imagine a day without this version of the song in the world. @williamfwells dedication, grit and world class production, echoed the joy, longing and love so many have for John Candy. And of course, none of this is possible without @realdarylhall lyrics. Thank you Cynthia for using your gift to celebrate John Candy. Toronto, you beautiful city. 🇨🇦❤️@chriscandy4ever and I had the honor (and danger) of sharing the stage with national treasure Eugene Levy — who somehow manages to be both the funniest and classiest person in any room. The incomparable @kevinmccarthytv kept us on track… mostly.Chris Candy spoke of his dad in a way that was so beautiful, elegant and emotional. It turned everyone’s face into an actual monsoon. It was laughter, nostalgia, and just enough chaos to make John proud. Thank you, Toronto 🇨🇦

Last night was one for the books, New Brunswick! Laughter, tears, (allegedly) another spit take… @chriscandy4ever , @danpasternack and I welcomed comedy legend, human dopamine delivery system and 32 year SNL veteran, Steve Higgins. Steve lives in the same sphere of kindness John Candy inhabited. He’s given me some of the best advice over the years. Huge thanks to @statetheatrenj and New Jersey… thank you from the heart of our bottoms.

Chris Candy and I had the great pleasure of welcoming to the stage, Philadelphia’s 5th favourite son — and my brother from another mother(s), Mr. @robmac We spoke of our shared love for John Candy, Rob’s powerful and unwavering love for the great city of Philadelphia and has anyone ever looked up the sound an eagle actually makes? It’s surprising.

Home is good for the battery. Thank you Mayor @kensimcity for the Freedom Of The City honour. Thank you to the Vancouver City Council. Vancouver is one of the great loves of my life, now and always. It’s a moving, growing and bursting beauty. 🇨🇦

Gut punch… Ollie is a big reason we’re in this league today. Not to mention the boundless charisma and charm… he harnessed a lifetime of talent, heart and work-ethic to push @wrexham_afc and the town forward. Spending time with Ollie’s incredible family: his wife, Caitlin, amazing kids and his dad, Andy, are forever-memories. Ollie is my friend now and always. The silver lining is @officialstfc is an excellent club and they get to experience that same feeling @robmac and I felt as Ollie steps onto the pitch at The County Ground to push Swindon FC forward and up the pyramid. Thank you, Ollie. ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️P.S. for the love of all that’s holy, DO NOT tell my Mom her boyfriend is changing shirts. Tam-Tam is unpredictable. (SEE LAST SLIDE) Swindon can expect her to storm the pitch to provide fresh orange slices to Ollie without warning. She’s 80 years old. But homegirl is strong. Despite it making no sense at all… she JUST NOW qualified for the 1988 Olympics. We suspect she’s on something a little stronger than calcium supplements. Her birthday card to @thehughjackman said, “Do you even lift, bro?” That it. Not even “Happy birthday”.

The most beautiful campus I’ve ever seen. Thank you @yale_schwarzman for hosting and celebrating your incredible alumnus, @slevydirect. Taking a trip down memory lane, spanning three films my genius friend and brother, Shawn Levy and I have collaborated on. FREE GUY, THE ADAM PROJECT and DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE. Yale obviously churns out some of the most innovative people. They fostered his force of nature vision as a director, writer — and Oscar nominated producer. The school must be so proud of this guy. But for me and so many others, it’s his character, integrity and work ethic which sets him apart. Enormous thanks to @kevinmccarthytv for moderating. He’s behind some of the most insightful interviews of filmmakers in every genre. He LOVES movies and the process behind it.Yale churns out some of the brightest and most innovative people.And I admit… If time travel was even remotely affordable, I’d go back to High School and really apply myself with straight A’s, instead of grades ranging from “NO” to “oh-my-god-NO”, I’d definitely have written one hell of an application to Yale University.
